Scrum recommends a daily scrum every day to plan the day. But you get to define the format to make it work for you. So here’s mine:
- Start earlier.
- What’s the goal for this month?
- What’s changed on the KPI’s?
- What requirements can you delete?
- What is the most important goal for today?
- Who do I need to follow up with?
- What’s slowing me down?
Those aren’t your Scrum coach’s three questions, are they? Here’s why I do them:
1️⃣ is reminder to spend less time in bed in the morning. To defeat a personal weakness of mine.
2️⃣ and 3️⃣ say focus on what really matters. (Personal Agility says hello)
4️⃣ Is a reminder not to do things that don’t need being done.
5️⃣ Is about identifying two or three tasks that need to be done today.
6️⃣ Market validation is about customer, so I need to talk to customers. Every day!
7️⃣ Make visible my impediments and do something about them.
Case in point for number 7: I am very proud that MVP went live today. But I am spending too much time on it. Time to change that!
Entrepreneurs and founders, how do you start your day?
